WWE Releases SmackDown Star

"WWE has come to terms on a mutually agreed upon release with Simon Gotch as of today, April 5, 2017. WWE wishes Gotch the best in all his future endeavors."
Gotch signed a developmental contract with WWE in June of 2013. A year later he formed the tag team The Vaudevillains with Aiden English and won the NXT Tag Team Championship.

The Vaudevillains debuted on the main roster nearly a year ago on the April 7th episode of SmackDown. He was involved in a backstage fight with Sin Cara last July, which was said to be a "one-sided destruction" by Cara. Since then, he has not won a single match on television.

The Undertaker Undergoing Hip Replacement Surgery

WWE Legend, The Undertaker confirmed non-verbally that at WrestleMania 33 in his match vs. Roman Reigns was the last time we will get to see The Deadman compete in WWE. According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Undertaker is getting the full hip replacement surgery now which will indefinitely end his wrestling career. Undertaker has needed this surgery for quite some time now and the reason he held off on it is because he knew that if the procedure happened, he could never wrestle again.

Roman Reigns Responds To Crowd Reaction On RAW

The fans voiced their opinions during the open segment of Monday’s episode of RAW when Roman Reigns walked out to the ring. Chants included “You Suck”, “Delete”, “A–hole”, “Roman Sucks” and “F–k You Roman.” Once the chants stopped, he then said that “this is my yard now.” This led to him walking out of the ring and to the backstage arena.

Reigns took to Twitter to react to the chants from fans. He posted this:

Brock Lesnar Not Defending The WWE Universal Championship At Payback?

New WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar has been rumored to not be defending his title at the upcoming RAW exclusive PPV, Payback on April 30th. According to Cageside Seats, Lesnar is not advertised to appear on any shows leading to WWE Payback and will not be on the European tour which is scheduled for May.

Also, according to WrestlingINC, the possible main event for WWE Payback is Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman and the winner of that will likely be the #1 contender to Brock’s Universal title. WWE has been pushing Reigns forcefully. The defeat of The Undertaker at WrestleMania may only be the beginning until we ultimately see Roman Reigns as the new Universal Champion.

These are just rumors and nothing is official until there is a scheduled championship match announced for Payback or not announced for Payback. Also, the “Superstar Shake-Up” that is scheduled to take place next week could change many of plans.

Roman Reigns Finally Talks After Beating The Undertaker At Wrestlemania 33

After defeating The Undertaker at Wrestlemania last night,Roman Reigns posted this on his official Twitter Account :

Possible Spoiler For Tonight’s RAW

Former WWE Universal Champion Finn Balor was spotted entering the Amway Center in Orlando this afternoon. WWE holds tonight’s episode of RAW at the arena, and this has led to speculation that Balor will make his return to WWE TV on this show.

Balor has been off of WWE TV since last August due to a shoulder injury but returned to in-ring action last month and worked a few live events. As of this writing, it has not been confirmed that Balor will appear on the show.

Triple H sets a Wrestlemania Record

After counting the lights at WrestleMania 33, Triple H is now the owner of a new WrestleMania
record; he has now lost more matches at The Show of Shows than any other performer in WWE history. In case you didn’t know...Despite his reputation in the internet wrestling community, Triple H has been rather generous at WrestleMania. Prior to his match against Seth Rollins, the Game had lost 11 times at the Showcase of the Immortals. Heading into the thirty-third edition of WWE’s signature event, he was tied with Shawn Michaels for the most losses at professional wrestling’s biggest event.

Major Name To Debut On Smackdown Live

As Wrestlemania weekend draws to a close after an epic list of events, WWE are beginning to look to the future as soon as this week’s Raw and Smackdown.

Each year, the Raw after Wrestlemania is one of the most enjoyable and surprise-filled shows of the year, and this year looks to be no different. There is plenty of chatter about debuts, returns and the like on the red brand, but where does this leave Smackdown Live in the brand extension landscape of WWE?

Well, according to Cageside Seats, they are looking to turn this into just as big as the Raw show with the debut of Japanese sensation Shinsuke Nakamura. This will add to a highly talented Smackdown roster which already boasts the likes of John Cena, AJ Styles and Bray Wyatt at the top of the card.

Where do you see the King of Strong Style fitting in on the blue brand?

WWE Superstars Thank The Undertaker

The Undertaker apparently retired after his loss to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33 on Sunday. After the match was over, Taker left his hat, coat and gloves in the middle of the ring under a spotlight. He then kissed wife Michelle McCool at ringside before making his exit. Taker's gear remained in the ring for more than 30 minutes after the show.

Taker made a similar tease in the past but it was believed by some that this match could be the last for the 52 year old. It's worth noting that just about every WWE Superstar took to Twitter to tweet thanks to The Deadman after WrestleMania. You can see some of their tweets below:

Jeff Hardy Says They Have Not Been Offered WWE Contracts, Will Not Be Signing With WWE Soon

Chuck Carroll of CBS Local Sports interviewed Jeff Hardy, who said that the Hardys are planning to stay with Ring of Honor through the summer and aren't going to WWE right now. Hardy said that they will continue testing the waters at ROH and see how it goes after that. He said he also plans to approach them about performing concerts at some of their shows with his band's new album coming out in a couple of months.

When we talked in December everything seemed so certain that you were going to re-sign with Impact. The Broken gimmick was working so well. What actually happened? There are a lot of rumors out there.

"It's pretty simple. When we last spoke, Billy Corgan who is a good friend of myself and Matt, he was out at my property when we were filming Delete or Decay. He was going to own the company, be the president and all that good stuff. Basically, if he owned the company right now I'd still be under contract. But so many changes happened. When they bought him out or had a falling out with this other company and then another company, Anthem, came in. This other company leaves that I was negotiating with.

"And so, wow we don't have a deal or anything. It was a fresh start with this Anthem crew. Things were just too uncertain and it was just weird. I just thought that I had to make things different for my career. Right now the time is right. There were signs, I believe, from a higher power. Bottom line if Billy was still there I'd still be there. But the way that all went down I was just ready to move on."

One of the things that had been reported was that they were really slow in getting you guys the contracts and then pretty much gave you an ultimatum to sign them or get out. Is there any truth to the abruptness of how it all went down?

"Yeah, for sure. I was good to go with mine, but then Matt had some issues going on. So, time just moved on slowly. … Long story short, we couldn't come to an agreement. They were very late. We offered to come drop the titles at the TV tapings in March and they said we couldn't do that unless we were under contract. And I was like, "That's so silly. Oh my God, this is pro wrestling anything is possible. Let's do the right thing and come drop them to another team." But that wasn't good enough so we basically vacated them and never lost them.

"I wish them all the best. Seven years, I had a good time there. They were great to me and helped me through tough times. But it was just time to move on. So, yeah, very late contract negotiations."

We're at a point now where there has been some public back and forth by both sides. Are you surprised at the way they're trying to protect the Broken gimmick? That has to be a little disappointing given that you did invest seven years with the company.

"It's heartbreaking. I'm so passionate about any character I portray whether it's Willow, the Anti-Christ, the Charismatic Enigma, Itchweed… I'm so passionate about that. Nero is my legit middle name. Me not being able to be called Brother Nero is very offensive and heartbreaking. The highest rated show last year was The Final Deletion and that's a fact. The majority vote wins and people dug that. And then they kind of (pooped) on it. That's not cool.

"And now with this lawsuit, we did this Ring of Honor pay-per-view out in Las Vegas and we got these cease and desist letters. I couldn't believe it. In the print it said TNA developed these characters specifically for Matt and Jeff Hardy and that is so untrue. Matt developed himself and Brother Nero started to flow. I developed Brother Nero with the eyes and how I act. It's all ours and it is very sad and disappointing. It's almost surreal like, 'Is this really happening?'"

Rumor has it that WWE has presented you guys with contracts. Is there any truth to that?

"No, because you have to go through so much testing and all of that. It's a long process. But, no. We know some people there and naturally after WrestleMania dies down, maybe a couple of months from now, we'll see what's possible. But there is no truth to that whatsoever."

[Tonight] some friends of yours, the Rock 'n Roll Express are going into the WWE Hall of Fame. You have to be pretty excited about that.

"For sure. They were part of the Apocolypto deal. We had a little match with them. I still want to have a decent match with them. I love them to death. They're the best. Hopefully I don't know where or with what promotion, but we'll have that dream match. But full congrats to them because they deserve it."

Your band PEROXWHY?GEN just finished recording. You now have a live show under your belt. Does that mean we could see you guys out on tour?

"Yeah, hopefully so. As a matter of fact I'll probably mention something to Ring of Honor this weekend about playing at a live gig at one of the shows. I've always wanted to mix the music with the wrestling. So hopefully that will come true eventually. And definitely I hope to play many more shows throughout the year. I was actually so close to playing two dates on the Warped Tour this summer. They offered through my guitar player and that's huge. That's like being in there with the major leaguers. I was like so scared because I didn't know if we could do it. That needs to be the full band with the heavy songs and all that. It was just too soon. So hopefully summer of 2018 we'll be able to jump on that. Evidently a Jeff Hardy fan was in the system there and said it would be great to have you on. I don't think we were ready this year, but hopefully next year we'll have a few dates on the Warped Tour which is going to be breathtaking."

You just mentioned talking to Ring of Honor about doing a live performance at one of their shows. Have you guys re-signed there? Are you going to re-sign? What I was told was that you were signed for the "immediate future." That sounds like a short-term deal, but you tell me. How long are you going to be sticking around there?

"It's short-term. It's through the summer. What's cool about Ring of Honor is that we can still go out and work the indie dates. That's another thing about the TNA deal was that they wanted to take our indy dates from us and I really enjoy working the independent circuit. You meet some crazy, cool, interesting people and the shows have been so great as of late. I would say our Ring of Honor deals are through the summer. It's a short-term deal and we'll see how things go. We'll test the waters for a while and hopefully help the company grow."

So Saturday isn't going to the be the last time we see you guys in a Ring of Honor ring?

"Oh, no. No, there's going to be many more shows. Many more honorable shows."

When we last talked you just put out your solo debut EP, "Spawn of Me," and now you've done a live performance and did some live tracks. How'd that show go?

"It was awesome. I went out to Nashville Thursday evening and rehearsed all day Friday. Then I did a wrestling show in Clarksville and stayed in the ring to do in-ring pics with a huge line. Then I changed and went straight to the bar and did 11 or 12 songs. And my voice was gone. Even during the meet-and-greet it was so embarrassing. I was so afraid because my voice was horrible. Luckily somehow I got through it. It wasn't bad. It could have been worse. It was so natural and it gave me such confidence that I can't wait to do it again. It was a blast. The charisma was there. It was a great experience for me and gave me hope for the future."

You said you're going to be better on the next show. So, what were your takeaways from this?

"Not to blow my voice out the day before the show. I mean, we sounded good in rehearsal but man my voice was gone that Saturday morning and I was freaking out. Oh my gosh, but I got through it. And then I was sick with allergies and weird weather. It took about eight days for my voice to come back. I was freaking out like, "My God I'm never going to sing again. I'm going need to get that surgery that all these professionals get." But it's back now. I just won't rehearse as hard next time. Now I know how easy it is to wreck your voice."

Goldberg On Match With Brock Lesnar Being A 'Blood Fest', Not Wanting To Take Bumps During Training

On the premier episode of E&C's Pod Of Awesomeness, WWE Universal Champion Goldberg talked about his gruelling preparation for his current WWE run and his match with Brock Lesnar this Sunday at WrestleMania. Goldberg professed that WWE sent him a ring and Curtis Axel to help him get in in-ring shape; however, the three-time world champion is not interested in practicing bumps.

"They sent a ring out here for me to prepare. Hennig's kid came out and I did some stuff. The reality is, I didn't take a lot of bumps. And a bump is just a bump, so if I'm going to take a bump, I'm going to take it in realtime. I'm not going to die. I'm not going to break anything. I'm not brittle."
Goldberg acknowledged that his current WWE run is vindication for his lackluster exit from the company following WrestleMania 20. With that said, Goldberg stressed that coming back at 50 years old makes things more difficult.

"It just makes it a lot more difficult to perform that vindication coming back at WrestleMania after 13 years. The first WrestleMania match wasn't well-received. I know why. And then, now, everybody's like, 'okay, well, Goldberg can only go two moves. He can't go 13 seconds or whatever without sweating. How are they going to put a show on for this one to be better or much better or great compared to what they did before?'"

Goldberg shared that he hopes to bring out some stuff the fans have not yet seen from him at WrestleMania 33 and he indicated that the Universal Championship match will be a "blood fest".

"I was born into this position and I'm going to do what I'm told to do. And I'm going to do, at the end of the day, what I think people want to see. Well, hopefully, at 33, I'm about to bring out some stuff that I haven't shown, that I haven't been about to do because of television restraints." Goldberg reflected, "I think this is going to be a blood fest. This is going to be a knock down, drag out war."

WWE Unveils A Statue Of Ric Flair At WrestleMania AXXESS

During Thursday’s WrestleMania 33 AXXESS festivities, WWE unveiled a statue of Ric Flair. WWE posted several videos to their Instagram account, which you can see below. Charlotte Flair also tweeted about the statue.

WWE also released a statement announcing the statue, which read, “At WrestleMania Axxess on Thursday night, a life-sized statue of the stylin’, profilin’, limousine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin’ n’ dealin’ son of a gun was revealed in front of hundreds of members of the WWE Universe and the two-time WWE Hall of Famer himself.

The presentation puts the 16-time World Champion in an exclusive club of legendary competitors who have been immortalized in bronze by New York City-based sculptor Karen Atta, who has also constructed statues of Andre The Giant, Dusty Rhodes, Bruno Sammartino and The Ultimate Warrior.”

WWE Smackdown Women’s Title Match Possibly Moved Back to Main Card After Negative Fan Reaction

While this is definitely not a confirmation of things to come, the Smackdown Women’s Championship match scheduled for this Sunday’s WrestleMania pay-per-view may have been moved back to the main card after a fair amount of online outrage.

It was announced Tuesday during Smackdown Live that the bout, which will see champion Alexa Bliss defend her title against “all eligible Superstars” on the roster, had been moved to the WrestleMania Kickoff Show. This didn’t sit well with a large group of people, and fans took to social media immediately frustrated that their favorite Smackdown female stars had been relegated off the main card. The match is no longer specifically listed as a Kickoff match on WWE.com or the WWE App. Again, this doesn’t confirm any plans for Sunday’s big event, only that its listing has been changed after backlash from fans, and that they may be considering moving parts of the show around.

Update On Shelton Benjamin’s Shoulder Injury

Shelton Benjamin was supposed to return to WWE as part of the SmackDown Live brand last year but those plans were put on hold after he discovered that had a torn rotator cuff, which led to his return to the company to be delayed.

Benjamin recently noted on Twitter that he has been cleared to compete. Keep in mind that he still needs to pass WWE’s standard medical tests before he can return to the company.

"After 9 of the hardest months of my life, I'm happy to announce I have been OFFICIALLY CLEARED to return to action. Effective Immediately!" - were his words

Triple H Reveals Enzo Amore Was Almost Fired

Triple H appeared on ESPN yesterday to promote WrestleMania, and found himself speaking on WWE’s current recruitment process. As the conversation moved to what WWE looks for in new talent, Triple H told a story of how whenever Enzo Amore’s review came up in developmental, HHH and Dusty Rhodes were the only ones who didn’t want to cut him.

“THERE’S BEEN GUYS THAT HAVE MADE IT THAT OVER THE COURSE OF A COUPLE OF YEARS THAT WERE CONSTANTLY ON THE CUT LIST,” LEVESQUE TOLD ESPN. “ENZO AMORE, WHEN I BROUGHT HIM IN, EVERYONE AT THE TRYOUT WAS SAYING, ‘GET RID OF THIS KID!’ I WAS LIKE, ‘HE’S GOT A HUGE PERSONALITY. IF HE CAN ANNOY US ALL THIS BAD HERE, IMAGINE WHAT HE CAN DO ON TV.’ … EVERY TIME HE’D GET HIS REVIEW, THEY’D BE LIKE, ‘I’D CUT HIM.’ DUSTY [RHODES] AND I WOULD BE LIKE, ‘KEEP HIM.’ LOOK AT HIM NOW. … IS HE EVER GOING TO MAKE YOU MONEY FROM AN IN-RING PERFORMER STANDPOINT? PROBABLY NOT. BUT HE’S MONEY ON THE MIC.”

Triple H would also comment on what it is like to be both the COO of the company and a part-time talent as well.

“IT’S PROBABLY THE HARDEST THING I THINK I’VE DONE IN MY CAREER — DO THE DEAL WHERE YOU’RE NOT IN THE RING FOR A YEAR,” HE SAID. “YOU CAN DO ALL THE CARDIO YOU WANT, YOU CAN LOOK AS GREAT AS YOU WANT, YOU CAN DIET, YOU CAN DO ALL THOSE THINGS, BUT THEN GETTING IN THERE — WHEN YOU DO IT EVERY DAY, IT’S AUTOMATIC. THERE’S NO THINKING. YOU JUST DO. WHEN YOU HAVEN’T DONE IT IN A YEAR, YOU JUST THINK, AND THAT’S WHAT MAKES IT TOUGH.”

New Match Added To NXT Takeover: Orlando

WWE has announced that Sanity (Alexander Wolfe, Killian Dain, Eric Young, and Nikki Cross) will face Roderick Strong, Tye Dillinger, No Way Jose, and Ruby Riot in an Eight-Person Tag team match at NXT Takeover: Orlando this Saturday night.

Here is the updated card for the event:
NXT Championship Match: Bobby Roode © vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

NXT Women’s Championship Match: Asuka © vs. Ember Moon

NXT Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match: Authors Of Pain © vs. #DIY vs. The Revival

Singles Match: Andrade “Cien” Almas vs. Aleister Black

Eight-Person Tag Team Match: Sanity (Alexander Wolfe, Killian Dain, Eric Young, and Nikki Cross) vs. Roderick Strong, Tye Dillinger, No Way Jose, and Ruby Riot

Iconic Tag Team Expected To Make Their WWE Return Soon (Potential Spoilers)

According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, The Hardy Boys are expected to make their WWE return soon. In fact, he said that they can contractually debut as soon as Wrestlemania

It is not known at this time what brand they will be on, though the RAW tag team titles match being a ladder match at Wrestlemania has created speculation about the tag team making their return in some capacity during that match. Both Jeff and Matt Hardy will be at a WWN tailgate party in Orlando the morning of Wrestlemania, which means they will be in the area hours before the PPV, though it is worth noting that they have planned to have a viewing party the night of WrestleMania.

Anderson/Gallows Expected To Retain Raw Tag Titles At WrestleMania

Come this Sunday, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson will be your W-W-E Raw Tag Team Champions for more than 60 days. They are expected to retain the titles with outside interference from a familiar face… or should I say heel?

Many may expect Enzo and Big Cass to finally win the titles at WrestleMania 33, but as always, they’ll get a great pop and sing-along in their entrances, then lose yet again; with Big Cass maybe turning heel on the night after Raw.

Backstage rumors dictate that Finn Balor will interfere in the Triple Threat Ladder Match on Sunday to consequently reunite the Bullet Club with Finn as leader. If he doesn’t interfere, expect Finn to have a cameo during the Seth Rollins-HHH match. Balor is all healthy and ready to go but will not have a match at WrestleMania due to inadequate time for a build towards ‘Mania. Expect Balor to be in a type of cameo, the same way Cena did it last year.

Update On Summer Rae’s Return To WWE

Summer Rae hasn’t wrestled since August of 2016, and while she has shared that she’s dealing with an injury, details have been minimal concerning the nature and prognosis for recovery.
A new report details that she’s rather close to a comeback, and the timing looks great as there are several opportunities opening up where the former football player could be used.
On Raw, the brand she’s technically a part of, Sasha Banks looks set to turn heel soon and this may leave Bayley as the only babyface on the roster (depending on what goes on with Dana Brooke post-WrestleMania). Summer’s best work’s been as a heel, but she could excel at either role if given the chance.
Or, a perhaps more intriguing option, is she could jump to SmackDown, where a multi-woman championship match is looming for WrestleMania 33.
In fact, in reporting that Summer is down in Orlando at the WWE Performance Center working on getting cleared for a return, Squared Circle Sirens says Vince McMahon has talked about using both her and Emma in the blue brand’s title tilt on April 2.
Emma’s return to Raw has been promoted for a long time now, and it would seem strange for her to jump ship now, but it could be a better choice for Summer Rae.

Huge Announcement For Tonight's Monday Night Raw

Tonight's Monday Night Raw will be held in Philadelphia,"City of Brotherly Love,” but there will be no love lost between Universal Champion Goldberg and Brock Lesnar when they meet one final time before their cataclysmic clash at WrestleMania.

Major Update On Undertaker’s Opponent For WrestleMania 34

A year from now, WrestleMania 34 will emanate from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. This is where the ‘streak’ was broken by the Beast Incarnate, Barrrack Lessnar. This is a chance for the dead man to seek redemption.

But back to this year’s ‘Mania which is just about 9 days away. Undertaker’s match on April 2nd is expected to be a very short one because of his lingering hip injury. This injury was obvious during the Royal Rumble and it was obvious when ‘Taker took the spear from Roman Reigns. The reason why of all people: Roman Reigns, is The Undertaker’s opponent for next week’s WrestleMania is because management believes that this will be a draw for the casual fan. Management also believes that this will be a (*gulp*), passing of the torch if you will.

But it wasn’t supposed to be Roman Reigns. It was supposed to be John Cena. The change was brought about, because an injured ‘Taker versus John Cena won’t do justice to the technical aspect of wrestling. The Undertaker won’t be able to showcase his full repertoire against John Cena.  Its a good thing that it is just Roman Reigns since Roman has a limited move set. The match should be pretty short to lessen the agony and pain for the dead man.

Next year at Mania 34, when the Undertaker all heals up from his upcoming hip surgery, he will be already to go and fight of what will be… an awesome ‘Slobberknocker’ with John Cena.
